Jose serves as the CEO of HealthComp. He has more than 25 years of experience managing global P&Ls in healthcare and business services organizations. Most recently, Jose was General Manager and Head of Business Process Services Markets at Cognizant. Previously, he served as Global Managing Director of Health and Public Service and the Custom BPO Services Divisions at Accenture. He started his career at McKinsey and later went on to hold senior leadership positions at ADP. Jose earned his MBA from Harvard Business School and a Masters/Bachelors in Engineering from MIT.
Phil founded HealthComp in 1994 and was instrumental in launching the company into the third-party administration of Group Health and Section 125 plans. Phil started his career with Deloitte & Touche, where he worked in both the public and private sectors. Prior to starting HealthComp, Phil served in a variety of companies as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Operating Officer. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California.
Michael joined HealthComp in 1997, and has served the company as Head of Business Development and Chief Financial Officer. His past experience includes positions as Controller, Chief Financial Officer, and Vice President of Business Development, including Chief Financial Officer for American Medical Services in San Diego. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California.
Jim joined HealthComp in 2012 and has nearly 20 years’ experience in the healthcare industry. Previously, Jim worked for the biotech firm Genomic Health as an Oncogenomic Liaison, as well as for leading pharmaceutical companies Johnson & Johnson and Astra Zeneca. Jim earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from the University of Southern California.
Katie comes to us with more than 15 years’ experience in the insurance industry. Previously, Katie worked in customer service for a PBM company, and as a Product Development Analyst and Account Manager for Western Growers/Pinnacle Claims Management. Prior to her Sales role, Katie spent 7 years as a HealthComp Field Service Manager (focused on cultivating client relationships, product development, open enrollment meetings, renewal meetings, finalist presentations and ancillary sales). She received her Bachelor’s in Business Management from the University of Phoenix and holds a valid California life, accidental & health license.
Keri serves as the Vice President of Marketing & Strategy of HealthComp. Previously, Keri was on the investment team at Audax Private Equity Group where she worked with six portfolio companies across a broad range of industries and executed nineteen acquisitions. She started her career in investment banking at Rothschild. Keri received her MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and her Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from MIT.
Kyle Gerdts joined HealthComp in 2018 as Director of Sales, and is responsible for consultative sales and participates in new business development in HealthComp's West region. Prior to joining HealthComp, Kyle served as a Regional Sales Director for CoreSource, and a Sales and Client Development Executive for POMCO Administrators, Inc. Kyle holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Management from Fresno Pacific University, Fresno, California.
Ron joined HealthComp in 1997, opening our office in Seattle and introducing HealthComp to the Pacific Northwest. Ron started his career with Northwestern National Life in 1980 where he focused on the design and administration of self-funded plans. He then went to Network Management, a TPA in Seattle, as Sales Manager and handled the Microsoft employee benefit plan as well as other employer plans. This company was acquired by PacifiCare and he remained there until joining HealthComp. Ron has a degree in Business, Management & Marketing from the University of Wisconsin at River Falls.
Sylvia's career in Section 125 Plan Administration started in 1986. Sylvia has extensive experience administering Cafeteria, HRA, Transportation Benefits, and Educational Assistance Plans — sponsored by municipalities, governmental agencies, and non-profit organizations. At HealthComp, Sylvia is responsible for marketing and installation of new plans, employer/employee presentations, and providing and assisting employers with benefit compliance. Sylvia has an Associate of Arts Degree in Business Administration.
Matt has over 20 years’ experience as an executive leader managing large-scale business process operations for some of the fastest growing companies. Most recently Matt served as the Market Head for Cognizant leading their Digital Healthcare Operations practice. He brings a wealth of expertise managing large global operations centers designed around the customer experience. This includes over 15 years leading large operations and consulting teams servicing some of the top healthcare & life-sciences companies in the US. He has also spent years as an executive leader at innovative companies such as Microsoft and Fox Studios where he designed & directed user experiences focused on delighting the customer. Matt attended Weber State University he majored in Political Science and Statistics.
Tucker serves as the Chief Financial Officer of HealthComp. Tucker previously worked for The Boeing Company in a number of finance and strategy roles, most recently as a finance lead for the Transactions and New Business Development group. In this role Tucker led investments and strategic partnerships for Boeing’s Space and Communications portfolio. Tucker earned his MBA at Stanford’s Graduate School of Business and his Bachelors of Science at the University of Redlands.
Tom is involved in multiple areas of HealthComp including Operations, Compliance and Legal Affairs. Tom was admitted to the California Bar in 1990 and started his legal career with Stammer, McKnight, Barnum and Bailey, LLP. When he left the firm to join HealthComp in 2014, he was the Managing Partner (he had represented HealthComp since 2003). In private practice Tom’s areas of focus included healthcare and transactional work. Tom holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration-Finance from California State University Fresno and received his Juris Doctorate from San Joaquin College of Law.
Brandy joined HealthComp in 1998. She currently serves as the Human Resources Manager and is responsible for recruiting, career development and employee relations. Brandy has a passion for working with, and for, people. Prior to joining HealthComp in 1997, Brandy worked as an Office Manager for a local bearing company. She has also served as a board member and volunteer for several local community and youth outreach organizations.
Candie joined HealthComp in 2010. She has developed two new programs that focus on prevention and cost containment (Cancer Awareness and Emergency Solutions). She has 16 years of management experience in the medical field. Her previous work experience includes supervising two Adult Medicine Clinics for Kaiser Permanente and Respite Nursing at Valley Children’s Hospital. Candie holds a License in Vocational Nursing.
Charles joined HealthComp in 2004 as Call Center Manager. He has been employed in the health benefits industry since 1987. His prior experience includes positions of management and staff development for Principal Financial Group and Safeway, Inc. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Management and Organizational Development from Fresno Pacific University.
Doug joined HealthComp in 2012 and has 15 years of Information Technology experience in the health care industry. Doug manages our Information Technology department, which is responsible for maintaining the infrastructure and supporting the day to day operations of the company's extensive software systems and services. Prior to joining HealthComp, Doug worked as a Network/Server Administrator for Naval Hospital Lemoore. Doug holds a Bachelor's degree in Computers, Applications and Networking.
Gina joined HealthComp in 2002 and has served as Plan Building Manager since 2007. She has 27 years of experience in the health benefits industry. Her past experience includes positions as Auditor, Trainer, and Benefits Coordinator for CIGNA.
Karrish joined HealthComp in 2004. She has more than 27 years of Claims, Customer Service and Auditing experience in the health insurance industry. Karrish is responsible for the creation, implementation and maintenance of HealthComp’s policies and procedures. She started her career with Principal Financial Group and has a Training Certificate from the American Society for Training & Development.
Rayna joined HealthComp in 2004 with more than 15 years’ experience in Accounting. Previously, Rayna worked for 8 years as a Corporate Controller in the agricultural field. Rayna earned her Bachelor of Arts in Business Economics, with Accounting Emphasis, from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Susan joined HealthComp in 2004 and currently serves as the Claims Manager. She has been in the health benefits industry since 1994 and has more than 24 years of experience. Her past experience includes positions as an Auditor and Trainer for CIGNA.
